Devotay is a small, locally owned, family operation. We know how important it is to support the community around us.
Here are some of the charities and community groups we support. Some of them have links to their own sites, and we encourage you to visit them, and give them your full support. Remember that a community cannot thrive unless it supports its own, whether it is a commercial or a non-profit enterprise.
DOMESTIC VIOLENCE INTERVENTION PROGRAM
- There is no way to overemphasize the importance of this organization. For as long as there are morons out there who think hitting is an option, for as long as bullies get their giggles from power trips, for as long as families are torn apart by fear and cowardice, DVIP needs your help. Please support them any way you can.

Slow Food Iowa
The local website for the international Slow Food Movement.
Recognizing that the enjoyment of wholesome food is essential to the pursuit of happiness, Slow Food U.S.A. is an educational organization dedicated to stewardship of the land and ecologically sound food production; to the revival of the kitchen and the table as centers of pleasure, culture, and community; to the invigoration and proliferation of regional, seasonal culinary traditions; and to living a slower and more harmonious rhythm of life.
There is also a larger community around us...
It is difficult to comprehend the scope of the tragedy of September 11th, the depth of the feeling of helplessness is immeasurable. In times such as these, it is a comfort to turn to what you know, and we know very little besides restaurants.

World Trade Center photo from Decanter, Sept. 17, 2001.
On the 106th and 107th floors of the North Tower of the World Trade center was an American Icon of a restaurant, Windows on the World. It employed 450 people from 2 dozen countries. With the support and participation from thousands of individuals and various organizations, Windows of Hope has raised more than $21 million. Windows of Hope has identified and is assisting 125 eligible families with some 150 plus dependant children. To date each family has received four direct cash distributions plus emergency monies distributed on an "as needed basis".
The Windows of Hope fund has been established to aid the families of those lost at Windows on the World. Devotay, along with restaurants all over the country, donated sales from October 11th to aid the Windows of Hope fund. All administrative costs have been donated, every penny goes to the families, and it is all tax-deductible.
Than you very, very much.
